Internet2 Land Speed Record Broken with NetBSD!
The Internet2 Land Speed Record has been broken using NetBSD!
Two Dell 2650's /w single 2GHz CPUs running a prerelease of
the upcoming NetBSD 2.0 release were used to achieve
a record speed of 69.073 petabitmeter/second (16383km *
4226Gbit/s). See the project's page
and the Internet2 web page
for more information. As can be seen, NetBSD performed much better than
Linux (that CERN used) in all areas when sending/receiving traffic.
Whee!
