General description:

LATEX is a complex typesetting system invented in the 70s by Donald E. Knuth. It has very few limitations, especially designed for producing high quality printouts of mathematical and scientific documents. With the aid of so-called style-files, many additional types of contents can be described such as syntax diagrams, musical notes, etc.
